Metrozet Seismic Products
Triaxial Seismic Accelerometer – Digital Sensor – 6DOF Strong Motion – Ultra Broadband Electronics – 24-bit Seismographic Digitizer
The Metrozet TSA-100S is a triaxial seismic accelerometer used extensively throughout the world in mission-critical seismic applications such as tsunami warning, structural monitoring and earthquake science. The TSA-100S provides a large sensing range (+/- 4g), wide frequency response (DC to > 225 Hz), high accuracy (ultra-low non-linearity and hysteresis) and industry-leading noise performance. The TSA-100S provides the highest overall performance of any strong motion (+/- 4g) seismic acceleromer. Our datasheet provides comparative information regarding performance of the Metrozet TSA-100S against the previous industry standard.

The TSA-100S is designed to be very simple to use: mount the sensor, attach the connector, and begin measurement. It uses a common connector and is pin-compatible with many sensors currently sold today. Sensor operation is easy and many of the undesirable behaviors of previous strong motion sensors such as large offsets and high drift rates have been eliminated. Our manual provides all the details necessary for successful deployment, but please contact us with any questions.

*TSA-100S Now Available in 6DOF Seismic Inertial Measurement Unit*
Uncorrected rotational motions are a big problem for strong motion seismic and structural engineering analysis. As part of our mission to deliver the highest fidelity products on the market, we now offer an integrated 6DOF (six degrees of freedom) seismic inertial measurement unit. Our TSA-100S-6DOF combines three orthogonal high performance seismic accelerometers and three inertial-grade rate sensors with 6 (yeah, six!) channels of 24-bit digital data. The standard RS-485 communications, Labview drivers and kind pricing are sure to accelerate your plans to remove rotational distortion from your next strong motion project. Certain export and resale restrictions apply to this product. Patent Pending. Please contact us for product specifications and pricing.
The STS1-E300 is an advanced electronics package that provides a modern replacement for the original Streckeisen STS-1 “Feedback Electronics” boxes. It matches the outstanding analog performance of the original system, while providing a number of enhancements that make installation and operation of the sensors more efficient within a modern seismic network. The STS1-E300 offers a modern interface and new level of reliability for the global installed base of high performance very broadband seismometers used in applications including geophysical research, earthquake monitoring, tsunami warning systems, and nuclear test ban treaty verification.
Features include digital control of all STS-1 sensor parameters (corner frequency and damping, with a new 2 second setup mode), remote digital control of centering motor operations (including a new, one-step “Auto Center” capability), and a digitally-controlled diagnostic function that allows remote monitoring of all major instrument state-of-health parameters (including critical power supply voltages, boom position, signal output levels, motor switch state, electronics temperature, and a number of auxiliary, analog and digital input lines). All of the control and diagnostic functions can be controlled locally (via RS-232, USB, or Ethernet), or remotely (via Ethernet).
Developed with support from IRIS and in collaboration with the Berkeley Seismological Laboratory (UC Berkeley) and the Professor Erhard Wielandt (co-inventor of the STS-1), the STS1-E300 will provides a critical resource for extending the operational lifetime of the world’s highest performance broadband seismometers (the Streckeisen STS-1).

Metrozet STS-1 Scale Factor Calculator
The STS-1 Scale Factor Calculator is a simple applet (for Windows) that allows STS1-E300 users to calculate the scale factors for an existing sensor when it is connected to any STS1-E300 module. The user enters values from the original Sterckeiesen “SEISMOMETER CALIBRATION SHEET” and the applet returns new scale factor values. This free applet is available for download via anonymous FTP. CALEX-EW Calibration Analysis Software
Metrozet's CALEX-EW is a complete software package that is designed to apply a temporal, conjugate-gradient filtering method to calibration data recorded from STS-1 seismometers that are connected to Metrozet's STS1-E300 electronics. The program is designed to work with data from a specific calibration mode within the STS1-E300: a velocity-equivalent SWEEP calibration. It calculates all corner frequency parameters, and poles and zeros, related to the sensor. This free software is available for download via anonymous FTP.
