Metrozet PBB-200S
Triaxial Portable 120-Second Broadband Seismometer
The Metrozet PBB-200S is a general-purpose broadband seismometer suitable for deployment in regional seismic networks, national seismic networks, and transportable arrays. Unlike the competition, the PBB-200S is MIL-SPEC tough and built around our Metrozet warpless baseplate.
The sensor technology incorporated into the PBB-200S is a modern, manufacturable version of a proven sensor approach that has delivered the BEST seismic data in the world for over 30 years. Our competition has never matched the long period permformance of the non-Galperin observatory sensors build decades ago, despite many attempts, that fail to deliver better seismic data.
If you are a seismologist or seismic network engineer, the PBB-200S is a general purpose broadband seismometer you can count on. Please contact Metrozet to discuss your requirements.
Broadband History:
Broadband seismology began with the originally designed and proven instrument at Harvard University and ETH (Zurich, Switzerland). The famous STS-1 was a fully integrated digital system manufactured by Quanterra and Streckeisen, AG, in the 80s. The system was called Very-Broad-Band (VBB), which is a common term used today.
Today:
The second generation of STS-1s is produced by Metrozet, Inc. Using the high performance legacy of the original STS-1, Metrozet kept the best features, minimized the size and created a smaller, robust unit for portable deployment. It is called the Metrozet PBB-200S, Triaxial Portable 120 Second Broadband Seismometer. For performance, wide flat frequency response, portability and MIL-SPEC toughness, the PBB-200S is the best in its class.
